Kavalan Single Malt Distillery Select No.1 is the entry expression from Kavalan Distillery, Taiwan's pioneering single malt producer. Founded in 2005 in the subtropical town of Yuanshan, Kavalan has redefined what single malt whisky can taste like outside of Scotland, using the intense heat and humidity of northeastern Taiwan to accelerate maturation and produce remarkably mature-tasting whisky in relatively short time frames.

The nose on Distillery Select No.1 is classic Kavalan: ripe tropical fruit—mango, pineapple, banana—alongside vanilla, soft oak, and a creamy malt richness. The palate is full and approachable, layering honeyed fruit, coconut, toffee, and a gentle oak spine that carries into a medium-length, warming finish. It's creamy, fruit-forward, and remarkably polished for an entry-level expression.
