When you use the J1772-NACS adapter that comes with the car, the adapter will get locked to your car but the level 2 charger plugged into the adapter, doesn't get lock. This leaves you open to having someone steal your charging cord from your car. This adapter lock is extremely simple and will prevent this from happening. All you have to do is connect the level 2 charger to the adapter and then slide the adapter lock over both and then plug it into your car. 

Limitations:

• This is not meant for J1772-NACS adapters for older EVs or for any other J1772-NACS adapter from another company.
