Iolite plain rondelle measure approximately 5mm up to 7mm graduation in diameter, have a vitreous luster, good polish, symmetrical rondelle shapes, well matched for tone on strand, the pleochroic gems have light to dark shades of a violets blue, grey and colorless hue depending on direction of view, and the transparent bodies have visible internal characteristics. Generous width measuring approximately 3-5mm.
